Guests, Inc. to Manage the Mimslyn Inn
Luray, VA – The Mimslyn Inn continues to undergo a first-class transformation with a new management company in place. Guests Incorporated, headquartered in Strasburg, Virginia, will provide operational and marketing support to the Inn. Guests, Inc. has worked with high quality hotels throughout the region for the past 20 years and understands the importance of a strong management team who practices quality customer service. Tim Garner, Regional Director, has been appointed to oversee the Inn on behalf of Guests, Inc. Victoria Thomas will remain as the General Manager.
The Mimslyn Inn was purchased in 2005 by the Asam family who also own and operate the Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown, WV. The owners feel that the service and hospitality philosophy of Guests, Inc. very closely aligns with their own management style of the Bavarian Inn and that having a locally based company manage the hotel better executes their ownership objectives.
The Mimslyn Inn was built in 1931 and has been a popular gathering place for many local residents and tourists. Today, The Mimslyn is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation project. The historic integrity of the building will remain intact while the “bones” of the Inn are receiving many upgrades.
New plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roof, and other significant fixtures are being upgraded. There will be a new spa, fitness room, and business center. All 44 rooms/suites will be equipped with new furnishings including flat screen televisions and luxurious bedding. Major exterior renovations to the portico, columns, balconies, patios and gardens are also underway. To compliment the other extensive enhancements, a newly designed entrance, parking area, signage and landscape are planned.
Construction work is scheduled to be completed late this fall. Tim Garner remarks, “this renovation has taken more time than anticipated but it will bring the Inn back to the “grandness” many remember and will be well worth the wait. The community of Luray and the Shenandoah Valley will not be disappointed in the final result. The Asam family is committed to providing an Inn that will be a tremendous asset to Luray and Page County.”
The Inn’s lounge and dining rooms will also receive complete makeovers. Updated menus featuring American Continental cuisine with freshly baked breads will be offered for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The main level will feature a Lobby Bar while a new smoke-free tavern, The Speakeasy, will open on the lower level. An array of Virginia wines as well as other select domestic and imported wines will be featured.
Renovations include beautiful new banquet and meeting space ideal for weddings, getaway meetings, conferences and retreats.
